Rules & Requirements

  • Ibis must be individually trained in order to complete said training to their fullest, meaning only one Ibis can be depicted as undergoing training in entries.
  • For visual art: Ibis must be full-body with clean lines or neatly sketched, fully colored, and with a background that roughly matches the prompt's description. At least 80% of the Ibis must be visible.
  • For literature: Minimum word count is 1000 for each step of training. Make sure to be descriptive about the scene and environment without detracting from your Ibis!

Blindness Training

Blindness Training is a type of training that only blind Ibis can undergo. Completing these tests allows them to participate in group activities, such as scavenging, exploration, and more.

Step I: A Mother's Call

To a young fawn, the world of Silvinna is a wonderful and mysterious environment to learn and grow within.  To a fawn that is born without sight, the wonderment of the smells, sounds, and touch are even more exploratory as they must find new ways to live and interact with their surroundings.  Unaccustomed to the sensations, newly born are welcomed into the vast world with the gentle and loving voice of their mother.  This voice becomes a blind fawn’s “guiding light” in the visual darkness and an important key element in their early development.

Depict your fawn responding to their mother’s voice to follow their mother or to traverse an obstacle.

Step II: Touch Navigation

As a blind fawn grows and becomes comfortable in their environment, they memorize the paths and obstacles their mothers lead them through and begin to slowly leave their mother’s side to explore their surroundings and play.  Many visually impaired fawns use touch in order to navigate and investigate new areas, creating an ever growing mental map.

Depict your fawn navigating an area using touch.

Step III: A Magical Sixth Sense

As a fawn grows and their magic affinity starts to manifest, young ibis begin to learn how to channel and use their natural abilities through constant use and training.  For blind fawns, magic becomes a sixth sense as they acquire the ability to feel or affect the world around them through the use of their magic. Whether feeling the earth, changes in temperature, electron fields, or even the moisture within the air, magic is an important instrument for the visually impaired ibis.

Depict your fawn using their magic to help guide them through their environment.

Once Blindness Training has been completed, reply to the TRAINING comment on your Ibis' import with all three entries.
If all the pieces meet minimum effort requirements and match the above prompts, your blind Ibis will be granted the ability to participate in group activities.
